Congratulations, Chef Antonia LoFaso!

It didn't look good for Antonia several weeks in a row when her team ended up on the bottom, although in a few cases, the judges said her dish was actually one of the favorites. This time, however, cooking by herself, she nailed the challenge. Her simple antipasto of mussels with white wine and fennel really wowed the judges and fulfilled the Italian challenge to a T. And who better to win such a challenge than an actual Italian?

Congratulations, Chef Carla Hall!

A hearty congrats to Chef Carla Hall for her second Elimination Challenge win this season! She wisely chose to remove the bloodline from her bluefish before smoking it and creating her version of a New York classic: smoked fish on a bagel. The judges loved it, calling it "brilliant," and the dining public loved it as well.

Carla is such a strong competitor, in her own gentle and quiet way, and we wouldn't be surprised at all to see her in the final three...or even the winner of the whole shebang.

Congratulations, Chef Zac Young

Well - finally!

Zac Young has been dazzling us with his creativity all season, so it's about time that he wins an Elimination Challenge. His delightful desserts representing Julie Andrews and husband Blake Edwards charmed the judges and showed a lot of ingenuity. Plus, they were the right size for a "tea party."

Only four pastrycheftestants are left - will Zac win it all? Only one way to find out.

This post is only for positive comments about Chef Young. If you have anything negative to say about him or his   competitors, please do so here.

Congratulations, Team Whisk Me Away!

All Top Chef congratulates Chefs EricWolitzky, Morgan Wilson, and Danielle Keene for winning the first ever Dessert Wars! Despite a bit of sibling-like squabbling at the start, things were soon under control and the three of them cranked out some fabulous desserts that, with few exceptions, pleased the judges and the customers.

Great job! Can't wait to see what you produce next week.

Congratulations, Top Chef Kevin Sbraga!

Congratulations to Chef Kevin Sbraga, who last night was crowned Top Chef. A bit of a dark horse throughout the season, Chef Sbraga really delivered during the finale, with perfectly cooked duck and fantastic duck ravioili, excellent seared rouget, and an updated version of the Singapore sling that absolutely wowed the judges:

Gail described Kevin's meal as starting out subtle, but building to an absolute punch at dessert. For that, he won the coveted title of Top Chef and all the riches and fame that go along with that.

Congratulations, Chef Tiffany Derry!

Chef Tiffany Derry had a great night last night, taking home both the Quickfire win, which came with immunity, and the big prize, for her "$10,000 tamale," which represented the flavors of Mexico. Gail summed up the judges thoughts about the dish's taste, saying that she did a great job combining the meat of the tamale with the condiments, including queso fresco and tomatillo sauce.

Ultimately, guest judge Chef Jose Andres named Chef Derry the winner of the Elimination Challenge, saying her dish did the best job of representing her country. She won not only the challenge, but $10,000, courtesy of Dial, and a $10,000 donation in her name to the DC Central Kitchen.

Congratulations, Chef Arnold Myint!

Last week, Chef Arnold complained about not getting enough credit for his work. He certainly could not complain this week as he took the win for the Summer Picnic Elimination Challenge.

Even though Chef Ed's flavors were called "bright,"Chef Angelo's Vietnamese wraps were considered very nice, and guest judge Jonathan Waxman was "crazy" for Chef Amanda's grilled asparagus, the judges felt that Chef Arnold's Sesame Lamb Ball, Tabouli Salad, and Gazpacho was "full of flavor" and worthy of the win. With three different chefs winning the first three Elimination Challenges, its certainly anybody's game, but Chef Arnold has proven himself a tough contender each week.

This post is only for positive comments about Chef . If you have anything negative to say about her or any of her competition, please leave a comment here.

Congratulations, Chef Liken!

Congratulations go this week to Chef Kelly Liken, who's braised pork carnitas tacos with pickled onions and oatmeal tortillas impressed the judges with their balance, crunch, and great taste. The judges praised the entire team's ability to bring a lot of color and interest to their inexpensive school lunch.

Chef Liken also mentioned that improving school lunches is a cause close to her heart - she works with a local elementary school in her hometown.

Congratulations, Chef Angelo Sosa!

Chef Angelo hit the ground running by winning both the Quickfire and Elimination Challenges. After peeling 10 potatoes, dicing 10 cups of onions, and breaking down four chickens in lightning speed, he wowed the judges with his Roasted Thigh with Roasted Wing, Onion Jam with Potato Noodles.

Later, in the Elimination Challenge where the chefs had to prepare a dish that reflected where they were from, Chef Angelo effectively represented his native region of rural Connecticut with Arctic Char with Pickled Shallots, Chilled Tapioca with Smoked Bacon Froth. Chef Angelo has certainly made a statement as the chef to beat this season. Congratulations once again!

Congratulations, Chef Keller!

Congratulations to Chef Keller for winning the premiere battle of Top Chef Masters! Not only did he succeed in pleasing a gaggle of Girl Scouts, he also impressed a tough panel of judges, including college students, in the Elimination challenge. He did a Masterful job of creating his dishes using minimal equipment, and it was a stroke of genius to use the shower to cool down and then warm up his pasta.

We look forward to seeing Chef Keller in the final round.
